Supplement Interactions: How To Stack Smart, Time It Right & Get The Most From Every Dollar

Most people don’t waste money on supplements because the product is bad — they waste money because they
take them at the wrong time, combine the wrong ingredients, or unknowingly reduce absorption.
This guide helps the Invincible Supps community get full value from every scoop and capsule.

First Rule: Absorption > Quantity

Taking 10 supplements at once isn’t “more optimized.” Some nutrients compete for absorption, some need fat,
and others work best on an empty stomach. Smart stacking makes your supplements hit harder — and protects your wallet.

Stacks That Work Well Together

Vitamin D3 + K2 + Omega-3

Best with fat
Morning / Mid-day
  • Vitamin D is fat-soluble (food helps absorption).
  • K2 supports proper calcium utilization.
  • Omega-3 supports cardiovascular & inflammation balance.

How to take: With breakfast or lunch that includes healthy fats.

p

Magnesium (Powder or Glycinate) + Ashwagandha

Recovery stack
Evening
  • Magnesium supports relaxation and nervous system recovery.
  • Ashwagandha supports stress resilience and cortisol balance.

How to take: 30–60 minutes before bed (light snack optional).

p

Creatine + Nitric Oxide (Pre-Workout)

Performance stack
30–45 min pre
  • Creatine supports strength, power, and ATP production.
  • Nitric oxide supports blood flow and pumps.

How to take: 30–45 minutes before training (or creatine post-workout if preferred).

p

CoQ10 + NAD+

Cellular energy
Morning
  • CoQ10 supports mitochondrial energy production.
  • NAD+ supports cellular energy and repair pathways.

How to take: Morning (CoQ10 with food; keep NAD+ away from heavy meals).

p

Turmeric + Omega-3

Anti-inflammatory support
With a meal
  • Turmeric is often absorbed better with dietary fat.
  • Omega-3 supports inflammation balance.

How to take: With a meal (ideally one containing fats).

p

Colostrum (Standalone is Best)

Empty stomach
Morning / Between meals
  • Supports gut lining, immune function, and recovery.
  • Best taken away from heavy meals and large protein shakes.

How to take: First thing in the morning or between meals.

p

What NOT To Take Together

Important: Many multivitamins contain minerals (like zinc, iron, calcium). Minerals often compete for absorption when stacked on top of each other.

Multivitamin + Magnesium

Competes for absorption

Magnesium can compete with minerals found in many multis (like calcium, zinc, and iron), reducing absorption.

Fix: Take your multivitamin in the morning and magnesium at night.

p

Multivitamin (with Iron) + Coffee

May reduce iron absorption

If your multi includes iron, coffee/tea near your dose can reduce absorption.

Fix: Take your multi 60–90 minutes away from coffee if possible.

p

Zinc + High Calcium (extra stacks)

Mineral competition

If you’re adding extra minerals on top of your multi, avoid combining high-dose calcium and zinc together.

Fix: Separate by several hours.

p

NAD+ + Heavy Fat Meals

Keep meals lighter

NAD+ is often best taken without a very heavy meal.

Fix: Take in the morning before breakfast or with a light meal.

p

Simple Daily Timing (Example Stack Layout)

Common Mistakes That Waste Money

  • Taking everything at once “for convenience.”
  • Taking fat-soluble supplements without a meal that contains fats.
  • Stacking minerals together that compete for absorption.
  • Being inconsistent (supplements don’t work if you don’t take them).
  • Not separating recovery supplements from stimulant-style timing.
